Delete Your MealWise Account

MealWise (published by MealWise LLC) lets you permanently delete your account and associated personal data. This page explains how.

Option 1 — Delete inside the app (recommended)

  1. Sign in to MealWise at joinmealwise.com/auth.
  2. Open your Dashboard.
  3. Scroll to the "Account" section and select "Delete account".
  4. Read the on-screen warning and type DELETE to confirm.

Option 2 — Request deletion by email

If you cannot sign in, email support@joinmealwise.com from the address on your MealWise account with the subject "MealWise account deletion request". We will verify your identity and complete deletion within 30 days.

What gets deleted

  • Profile, household, and family-member records (including information you entered for minors).
  • Meal plans, planned meals, favorites, liked meals, shopping cart.
  • Food journal entries and any uploaded journal photos.
  • Weight-tracker history, BMI inputs, health goals, dietary conditions, allergies.
  • Adherence logs and app activity linked to your account.
  • Affiliate click records associated with your account.
  • Your account in our sign-in system (so you can no longer sign in).
  • Kroger connection and selected-store information stored by MealWise.
  • The deletion flow requests immediate cancellation of an active Stripe subscription.

Deleting your MealWise account does not cancel Apple billing. Manage or cancel your App Store subscription in your Apple account settings: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → MealWise. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription either.

What we retain (and why)

  • Cancellation records with identity and feedback removed — retained for product and financial analysis.
  • Payment and webhook logs from Stripe — retained as required for tax, accounting, and fraud-prevention obligations.
  • Pending checkout records — may retain the checkout email and billing identifiers; these are separate from your sign-in account.
  • Aggregated / de-identified usage metrics — retained where they cannot be linked back to you.

Retained records do not restore your deleted sign-in account. Billing and audit records may still include identifiers or a checkout email; contact support for questions about those records.

Timing

In-app deletion is immediate. Email requests are completed within 30 days after we verify the request.
